The challenges facing our Austrian economy today are quite different to those from only a couple of decades ago. Competition has developed to now take on a global scale in which only those companies can succeed who offer specialised services and high quality products on the world market.
In Austria we find just such excellent businesses in our metal and technology sectors. These companies belong onto the front stage which is both the task and the expressed aim of the "Metal Leading Companies - Technology and Development" project: to bring their outstanding achievements for Austria as an economic site to the attention of the public. It is especially the companies in Austria's metal and technology sectors which lead the way. It is they who make the biggest investments in research and development compared to the turnover of the whole business sector. The resulting innovations give Austria the necessary edge a small country needs to survive on the international markets. But that is not all: they create and secure jobs and thus contribute to the standard of living in Austria. They make an immense contribution to the country's economic growth. They keep both talent and know-how in Europe and are at the same time export leaders. It is the aim of the network "Metal Leading Companies Austria" to make public the achievements of the national metal and technology sectors not only in Austria but on a Europe-wide and international stage.
